Sandlands is owned by Tegan Passalacqua (Turley Vineyards). Since its launch in 2010, he has made some of California’s most original and sought-after wines. The line-up encompasses the forgotten classic California varieties, primarily grown in decomposed granite (sand), from regions and vineyards that have been farmed for many generations but have remained somewhat outliers of California viticulture.

This organic vineyard was planted in 1886 in the heart of Western Lodi by Joseph Spenker. It was farmed for decades by Al Bechthold and is now thriving under the watchful eye of the Phillips family. 8 barrels of this wine were produced. 

Notes of cranberry, pomegranate, violets and lavender, with a granitic finish.
