The Bío Bío Valley is one of Chile’s most historic and extreme wine regions, and Roberto Henriquez is at the forefront of its quality-focused producers. At his namesake winery, he preserves the region’s winemaking traditions and native varieties with light-bodied, refined, site-specific wines from ancient vineyards.

After studying agronomy and enology and working at large wineries in his native Chile, he embarked on a global winemaking journey with stops in Canada, South Africa, and France’s Loire Valley, where leading natural winemaker René Mosse ignited his passion for biodynamic viticulture. At age 29, Roberto returned to Bio Bío with the goal of rescuing and showcasing some of South America’s oldest grape varieties, including  200–250 year-old País vines on the banks of the Biobío River that had weathered the southern region’s cool, windy climate. After carefully selecting his vineyards, he founded the Roberto Henriquez winery in 2015.

Since then, his local project has grown from a 400-bottle production to an internationally renowned winery, but he remains true to his mission, farming every vineyard and producing every bottle with a profound respect for Chile’s extensive winemaking history. Henriquez farms all the vineyards himself without herbicides or pesticides, adhering to organic and sustainable principles in the vineyard and the cellar, without the use of any chemicals.

Made from 100% Pais coming from 200 + year-old vines, Tierra de Puma is both rustic and elegant. It's fresh and light on its feet, with floral aromas, bright red fruits, an earthy minerality and soft tannins.
