Outward Wines Sendero Luminoso Red Blend 2025

Outward Wines is a partnership between Natalie Siddique and Ryan Pace. They are focused on producing small-lot, site-specific wines that collectively showcase the diversity of terroir across California's Central Coast. They currently farm approximately six acres of vines across several sites on the San Luis Obispo Coast and the Santa Ynez Valley. Outside of the grapes we farm ourselves, they also source from other thoughtfully farmed, coastal-influenced vineyards that span the Central Coast. All of the vineyards they work with are farmed organically at minimum and are located in close proximity to the cold Pacific Ocean.

In the cellar they employ a hands-off approach, utilizing native yeast to carry out fermentations, aging exclusively in old French oak barrels, and bottling without fining or filtration.

El Sendero Luminoso, which translates to “The Shining Path,” is named after an iconic rock climb in El Potrero Chico, Mexico. This wine is a play on the classic ‘GSM’ Rhône blend, but instead of Grenache, Outward features Vaccarèse—one of the rarest grapes of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and a grape planted in only two vineyards in all of North America. 

The 2025 Sendero Luminoso includes select barrels of Syrah (60%), Mourvèdre (30%), and Vaccarèse from Old Oak (10%). Notes of raspberries, blackberries, violets, herbs de Provence, and bacon fat.
