Planted in 1972, Shell Creek Vineyard is among the first vineyards planted in San Luis Obispo County. This remote vineyard of the Paso Robles Highlands District sits beneath limestone cliffs featuring marine fossils after which the vineyard was named.

In 2024, Outward harvested over two different dates from this site, about a week apart, at the end of August and early September. The first pick of grapes was foot-stomped and soaked on the skins for 24 hours before pressing, and the second was direct-pressed. Both underwent native fermentation in neutral oak barrels and were aged for 10 months on the lees.

This wine showcases a diverse breadth of Chenin aromatics, balancing both opulence and freshness on the nose and palate. Notes of quince, pear, white flowers, ginger, honey and wet stone.
