Nue Wilde is a new project from our friend Ben Herod, who is sourcing fruit from organic vineyards and making wine in an old-school, low-intervention way. Fruit is destemmed but not crushed, in an effort to be light on the grape skins. Fermentation continued slowly. Total of 16 days on the skins; aged in neutral oak barrels; bottled unfined/unfiltered with minimal added. 

The temperature shift between day and night at this particular vineyard site allows grapes to retain good acid levels while gracefully maturing.Bright, medium-bodied and earthy, with classic cedar, brambly berry fruit, and forest floor undertones.  Soft, light tannins and a round, lengthy finish.
