This unique bottling was inspired by white wines produced in the Jura. For centuries, the Jura has intentionally oxidized varieties like Chardonnay and Savagnin over many months in oak barrels. The wines are full of acidity, yet rich and nutty from oxidation and the yeast film that develops called Flor. After time, the white wine turns a beautiful golden yellow, Vin Jaune or Yellow Wine.

In 2017, Madson harvested a large yield of Chardonnay from PM Staiger Vineyard, which gave them the opportunity to experiment with developing Flor in 2 untopped barrels and extend the barrel age time to 24 months.

This Madson Vin Jaune has booming acidity balanced with the savoriness of almond skin and cashew. Aromas of white flower, honey beeswax, ocean spray and warm sourdough bread fresh from the oven. Flavors of apple tart tatin, and golden peach. Punchy yet balanced with a hint of brioche...allow this wine to breathe. Pair with croque madam/monsieur or charcuterie snacks featuring grueyere and/or ham.
