Founded in 1999 by Dominique Lafon, Héritiers du Comte Lafon is his trailblazing, certified organic & biodynamic Mâconnais domaine. Historically, the Mâconnais was known for industrially farmed, volume driven wines. Dominique was  the first Cote d’Or producer to invest in the immense potential here, buying higher altitude, old vine parcels with the intention of letting this terroir reach its full potential. He started by converting all of the vineyards to biodynamic farming.

Since the beginning, Dominique has strived to preserve the fruit and minerality of the region by using only larger, neutral wood for the aging of the wines. The result is wines with crisp acidity, good mineral backbone and acidity.

From the sub-zone of Milly where the wines tend to be very mineral and taut, this is Lafon's highest Mâcon vineyard at an altitude of 350 meters. Two thirds aged and fermented in wooden foudres, the rest in tank. Lovely, engaging, round ripe fruit but also with a distinct freshness. Notes of orchard and yellow fruit with mineral touch.
