Life partners Julie Brosselin and Ivo Ferreira came together to form Les Cigales dans la Fourmilière, and are now making incredible natural wines in a small, northern region of Languedoc, called Montpeyroux. The wines are a wonderful expression of the French Mediterranean climate, reflecting the warm sun and proximity to the sea.
The Marée Basse 2023 is a co-ferment of red and white grapes, Grenache Noir and Terret Bouret, two local grape varieties that thrive in the scrubby coastal and jagged terrains of Hérault. Named for the expression "low tide," Marée Basse reflects its terroir's earthy and savory elements. Lively and refreshing, with notes of ripe red fruits and a hint of minerality. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, with no added sulfur.
