Type: Red Wine
Axel Prufer, a German expat who has now settled in the Languedoc, is a key player in the natural wine movement in southern France and is committed to making his wines in a stripped-down, non-interventionist way. By focusing on the best organic viticulture, he's able to harvest pristine fruit that requires no additions on its way into bottle.
This wine is Axel's leading cuvée, 100% Grenache from vines that are at least 35 years old, which he only releases in vintages in which the crop is exceptional. It undergoes carbonic maceration with no temperature control.
Lovely herbal and floral aromas. Bright and fruity on the palate, with soft tannins and a refreshing, mineral-driven finish.
