Hana Makgeolli is a Brooklyn based producer of artisanal Korean rice wines that launched in 2020. By using only organic rice and traditional brewing methodologies, we craft makgeolli with complex flavors that showcase the rich depth of Korea’s "sool" tradition (sool is a Korean word that refers to all alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, rice brew, and distilled spirits).
Their brews strike a unique balance between deep, earthy grain notes, natural lactic acidity, and tropical fruit, combined with a stronger ABV that mirrors Korea’s distinctive jeongtongju style. The rice is certified organic and exclusively sourced from a family farm in California. They do not produce with additives of any kind.
MAQ8 is the newest line of single serve, Korean rice wines powered by Hana Makgeolli. Made with the highest quality rice, MAQ 8 is light and refreshing, with a balanced sweetness and fizz.
