Frantz Saumon has been making wine in Montlouis since 2002 when he graduated from oenology school. Instead of taking the traditional route and working for an established producer to learn the ropes, Frantz wasted no time and purchased a small plot of land for his own winemaking.
This "Vin de Frantz" is a composition of organically/biodynamically farmed Menu Pineau and Romorantin from Frantz Saumon. Menu Pineau has been cultivated within the Loire Valley since the 16th Century. Frantz Saumon’s signature varietal is Chenin Blanc, yet his Vin de Frantz wines allow him to experiment with other varieties. These wines are all about freshness, with relatively low alcohol.
Aromas of caramel apples, yet very fresh and lifted on the palate.
