Flavio Roddolo is a legendary, traditional winemaker, sometimes called the Hermit of Monforte. He has farmed his vineyards on Bricco Appiani hill without chemicals for more than 40 years. Minimal intervention, no filtering or fining, and releasing wines only when he believes they are ready, sometimes cellaring his wines years, even decades.
