Eduardo Torres learned to make wine on his native Canary Islands before moving to Sicily in 2012, where he took an internship with Arianna Occhipinti, followed by a position at Passopisciaro, one of Sicily’s most highly regarded wineries.
In 2014, Eduardo vinified his first vintage under his own label. He focuses on indigenous varieties, farming is organic and winemaking is as low-intervention as possible. This wine comes from an ungrafted parcel of mixed-variety ancient vines situated on the north face of iconic Mt. Etna. The volcanic-soil vineyard is enclosed by old stone wall and named after the Strada Quota Nave that runs along here, a tiny dirt road that marks the spot.
This wine is marked by freshness, mineral depth and acidity, with aromas of red berry fruit followed by spicy and herbaceous notes on the palate.
