40 years ago, Hermann Krutzler bottled the first of his high quality wines, with distinctive style and character. His son Reinhold adopted this pioneering spirit and created the master blend, Perwolff, with his father and brother, Erich, in the 1990s, thereby ushering in a new era for Austrian reds that have since become successful all over the world. The next generation is now continuing this successful journey with Clemens Krutzler, who, only in his early 20's, is breaking from the mold and experimenting with varying maceration times for his Welschriesling and Blaufränkisch-based wines. All wines are raised sur lie in used oak barrels – a rarity here. The entire process is low intervention, with the goal of creating a new style of wines that are serious yet full of lightness, liveliness, and refreshing elegance.

Aromas of yeast, yellow apple, honeydew, lime zest, verbena and cardamom. On the palate, notes of apple, quince and apricot lead into a slightly savory, subtly tart finish. Despite only 10.5% alcohol, this wine has tons of personality and depth.
