Amélie Berthaut of Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet has been blessed with enviable vineyard holdings throughout the Côte de Nuits through both her parents and through her own contracts, including some of the most sought-after vineyards in Vosne-Romanée. Within a short time (her first vintage was 2013), Amélie has put her own village on the map and become perhaps the shiniest of the rising stars of Burgundy. While she's been described as new guard, her wines, though contemporary, are as refined and classic as she is.
Grapes for this wine come from four parcels: Au Près, Fixey, Clos du Villages, and Sorgentière. Fully destemmed. Fermentations are completed in cement; the wine is then aged for 12 months in barrel (no new oak). Total élèvage is 18 months.
Exuberant aromas of vibrant red fruit infused with hints of violet. The palate is medium-bodied with dark berry notes and supple tannins.
