Burlotto was formally established in 1850 by Giovan Battista Burlotto, one of the first producers to sell Barolo in bottle. After decades of obscurity following Giovan's death in 1927, his great-great-grandson Fabio Alessandria has revived the estate, which has become one of Piedmont's most exciting small producers.

This Barbera d'Alba comes from young vines (7–20 years old) in Verduno, foot-trodden and aged in well-seasoned botti grandi. Winemaking is classic, with 70% whole-cluster. Bright and bold, with blue fruit and notes of lavender, sage and mint. 2024 was a cool year, lending energy and tension to this wine.
