TOMORROWS WINE
$47.99
Country: USA
Region: North Coast
Type: Red Wine
Grape: Trousseau
A perennial favorite, this wine seems to form a seamless connection between Arnot-Roberts’ new world approach and the old world terroirs and styles that inform their work year-in and year-out. The deft touch used to vinify this temperamental varietal results in an expression of candied new world style fruit wrapped up in a package that expresses subtle nuances and complexity rarely encountered in young California wine.
Light-bodied, but gracefully perfumed, the 2023 Trousseau is a blend from three Trousseau vineyards in the North Coast--Luchsinger, Boham and Bartolomei. Volcanic/gravelly loam soils. Native yeasts used for both primary and secondary fermentations. All of the lots were fermented 100% whole cluster and the wine was aged for 11 months in a combination of neutral French oak barrels, puncheons and foudre.
Pale and light-bodied, with concentrated aromas of cranberry, raspberry, licorice, smoke, and cloves, with a crunchy, acid-driven palate.
