Grape: Pansa Blanca
La Rumbera is one of Oriol's first wines, and considered the winery's flagship. It is a single-varietal Pansa Blanca, with grapes sourced from From 7 different parcels planted on granitic soils around Alella, around 15km north of Barcelona, in close proximity to the Mediterranean. Vines are between 35-80 years old, with soils composed of granitic sands and fossils.
The wine is fermented with wild yeasts in stainless steel, with 2 hours to 2 days skin contact, depending on the maturation of the grape. The wine is then raised on the lees in steel vat for 6 months before being bottled without fining or filtration and no added sulfur.
Notes of salt, sea air, and typical chalky mineral character of Pansa Blanca, with just a touch of citrus. Every wine that Oriol produces has a beautiful refreshing texture with a subtle intensity of flavors, and this is one of our favorite wines, vintage after vintage.
