2015 is one of the great vintages of Tenuta di Trinoro. This 100% Merlot was sourced from about two hectares of organically farmed vines in the vineyards of Tenaglia Est and Strada Vecchia. It spent 8 months in new French oak barrels, followed by 11 months in cement tanks before bottling.
Aromas of ripe blackberries, fresh red currants and dark cherries, which are nuanced by spring florals with hints of fresh mushroom, licorice and forest herbs. Full-bodied on the palate, with outstanding overall structure and concentration. Fresh red and black fruits and dark chocolate lead into earthy flavors on the finish. Striking purity of fruit. This is a spectacular, sophisticated, and powerful wine.
