Frantz Saumon has been making wine in Montlouis since 2002 when he graduated from oenology school. Instead of taking the traditional route and working for an established producer to learn the ropes, Frantz wasted no time and purchased a small plot of land for his own winemaking.

This wine comes from one of 1 of 5 single plots that Frantz elaborates into single vineyard releases when the vintage allows. These vines were planted between ’68-’98. Elevage is all old barrique for 14 months. Powerful and aromatic, yet refreshing and mineral-driven, with notes of lemon zest, apricot and smoke.
