Domaine de la Petite Soeur is located in Anjou, Loire Valley, France. Adrien de Mello founded the Domaine after working for several years all around the world as a winemaker, in Quebec, South Africa, United States, then back in France in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape area. He converted the estate to biodynamic farming. In the cellar, according to his philosophy, the wines are always vinified and aged without any additions including sulfur.
The grapes here come from the organic vineyards of Les Vignes Herbel in Anjou, and this lively rosé of sorts is made from an infusion of whole bunches of Pineau d’Aunis in the direct press of Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. After pressing, the wine had a short rest in cuve and was bottled young, brimming with energy. A gorgeous pale sunset in the glass, it is all pink peppercorn, blood orange and bitters.
