Champagne Agrapart was founded in 1894 by Arthur Agrapart in the village of Avize in the Côte de Blancs region of Champagne. Since the beginning, Agrapart has estate-bottled all of their wines under their own label. Today, fourth-generation vigneron Pascal Agrapart runs this venerable estate, one of the most historic and important in the Côte de Blancs. Pascal's deep knowledge of both farming and winemaking have helped him become a leading figure in Champagne's grower-producer revolution. Pascal's son, Amboise, helps him manage nine and a half hectares of predominantly Chardonnay vineyards, the vast majority of which are Grand Cru, in the heart of the Côte de Blancs. The estate has also farmed organically for years.
Les 7 Crus, a blend of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, comes from from 70% Grand Cru and 30% Premier Cru vineyards from the seven villages around Avize: Avize, Oger, Oily and Cramant for the Grand Crus, and Avenay Val d'Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil for the Premier Crus. All wines undergo malolactic conversion with one-quarter of the wine aged in old, neutral 600L casks, and the remainder aged in stainless steel tanks. It is aged on the less for 24-36 months.
Bright and precise, both creamy and zesty, with opulent fruit, citrus, floral and almond notes.
