Located in the Saar, this estate has over 40 years of winemaking experience - Erich and his wife revitalized the Falkensteinerhof winery that had fallen into disrepair, essentially by themselves and from scratch, starting in 1985. Today Erich and his son Johannes farm almost 13 hectares in the Saar, with about 1 hectare entirely ungrafted. Several of their plots are in highly-prized vineyards, including Euchariusberg, a once-legendary vineyard that's fallen under the radar in recent years.

The wines are classically Mosel, with lively and gentle floral aromatics mixed with raw beeswax and hard slate. The palate offers mouth-watering acidity, gentle structure and freshness that lasts a decade. Notes of white peach, herbs, white flowers, bergamot, and chalk. The wine is both juicy and racy yet deep and intense on the palate, finishing with notes of fresh herbs, minerals, Mirabelle plum, and lemon.
