This wine comes from Vare Vineyard at the base of Mt. Veeder, where the soils are deep, alluvial, and gravelly clay-loam. The site benefits from early afternoon shading, while daytime temperatures are moderated by proximity to the adjacent redwood-forested slopes of Mt. Veeder.

There is some skin contact here, so there are aromas of grape skins with light tannins on the rich palate lifted by clean, inviting fruity aromas of green apples, lime zest, peach, and nectarine.
