Axel Prüfer is originally from East Germany, but left to make wine in France and ended up settling in the Languedoc. Axel is committed to making his wines in a stripped-down, non-interventionist way and by fastidiously practicing organic viticulture, he is able to harvest pristine fruit that requires no additions. The grapes were macerated for 10 days in whole bunches before being pressed off to cuve.
This is among the more delicate of the reds from Axel, opens up to show a floral and fruit forward palate, while retaining a great deal of freshness and texture.
