Laurent Saillard Lucky You! 2021

Laurent Saillard took over a small parcel of the Clos Roche Blanche estate, a domaine which for decades had a cult following among natural wine drinkers. Laurent makes wine from this vineyard that he continues to farm organically. His wines are all made with classic Loire varieties: Gamay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Grolleau, Pineau d'Aunis. All wines are vinified naturally, without additives and little-to-no added sulfites. Production is very small.

The grapes for this cuvée come from a section of Clos Roche Blanche plated in 1973. The cépage is roughly 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Chardonnay. The grapes are whole cluster pressed into stainless steel where the juice ferments slowly until the spring. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal added sulfur.

Fresh and bright, with aromas of elderflower and tropical fruits, well-balanced acidity and a wonderful texture, as is found in of all of Laurent's whites.
