Amelie Berthaut is the daughter of Denis Berthaut and Marie-Andree Gerbet and took over winemaking responsibilities a few years ago. She previously studied oenology in Bordeaux before making wine in Bandol, France and Dunn in California before returning to her family's estate in 2013. Amelie has taken the wines from the humble appellation of Fixin in the Cotes de Nuits to a new level with her passion and attention to quality. Amelie farms as organically as possible, though the vineyards are not certified organic.
The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village comes from two parcels: Les Réas and Rivière. This wine reveals aromas of smoky cherries and incense followed by a medium to full-bodied ample palate with a succulent core of fruit and fine-grained, structured tannins.
