Jean-Philippe Padié was born and raised in Burgundy and then went on to study agronomy in Montpellier, after which he spent time with Mas Amiel and Domaine Gauby. Jean-Philippe decided to settle in Calce, Roussilon, where his grandparents are from. 

He has acquired some 15 hectares spread across 30 smaller parcels. Farming is mixture of organic and biodynamic, very light plowing most of which is done by horse, and the work in the winery is very low-intervention. 

Jean-Philippe makes beautiful, precise wines. The farming and winemaking is natural, and wines the very expressive of their place, highly drinkable yet complex, and leaning a bit more towards the classical side. This Grenache undergoes a two-week maceration/infusion of whole bunches (no punching down or pumping over), natural fermentation without additives in concrete tanks. Aged for 8 months in old barrels, plus a final month in a steel tank. Very minimal sulfur added at bottling. A fresh, juicy red with a hint of spice.
