Founded by Salvo Foti, I Vigneri is an association between Salvo Foti, other vine experts and local grape growers who bring their long experience among the particular vines of Etna to their work in the vineyard and cellar. It takes its name from an association of vineyard workers that existed in the Etna region in 1435, Maestranzi dei Vigneri, which greatly influenced the wine culture of the Etna region. Farming is organic
Aurora (which means dawn in Italian) is also the name of a small and graceful native butterfly that's currently at risk of extinction. These can often be spotted in the vines and inspired the wine's name and label. Heavily influenced by its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, this Carricante is citrus-driven and saline, with notes of lemon, peach, chalk, and waxy undertones. Organic farming. Fermented in stainless steel & aged on its lees for one year; textured, slightly flinty, and mineral driven.
