Country: Italy

The Alessandria family first established their farm in 1870, calling it Fratelli Alessandria, Verduno was the center of Barolo winemaking—it was here where families first crafted dry Nebbiolo wines in the style we know today, and also bottled wines individually instead of shipping in cask. Because of this, the village was internationally recognized as the face of Barolo and sought out by collectors across the European continent.

This wine is made from 100% Pelaverga Piccolo, a variety unique to Verduno.  Fruit from 2.6 hecares of vineyards, ranging in elevation from 250-350 meters: Riva Rocca, Campasso, Boscatto, Neirane, Sotto Orti and Galleria.  Organic farming. Stainless steel fermentation, on the skins for 6-8 days.  Aged in a combination of stainless and cement for 6 months.

Ruby red and light-to medium-bodied, with aromas and flavors of white and black pepper and herbs that add depth to a core of bright, juicy cherries and cranberries. Supple tannins and fresh acidity keep this wine well-balanced. Great served with a light chill!
