Founded by Salvo Foti, I Vigneri is an association between Salvo Foti, other vine experts and local grape growers who bring their long experience among the particular vines of Etna to their work in the vineyard and cellar. It takes its name from an association of vineyard workers that existed in the Etna region in 1435, Maestranzi dei Vigneri, which greatly influenced the wine culture of the Etna region.
Fruit for the ‘Rosso’ grows at soaring altitudes of 700 meters, in sandy, volcanic soils, experiencing large diurnal temperature swings and intense weather patterns. The wine is a 50/50 blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, showing savory notes of red fruit, smoke, and soil, with supple body and incredible length.
