Grape: Alicante/Minella/Grecanico/Other local varieties
Founded by Salvo Foti, I Vigneri is an association between Salvo Foti, other vine experts and local grape growers who bring their long experience among the particular vines of Etna to their work in the vineyard and cellar. It takes its name from an association of vineyard workers that existed in the Etna region in 1435, Maestranzi dei Vigneri, which greatly influenced the wine culture of the Etna region.
A co-fermented blend of 100 year old vines of Alicante (Grenache) and some other local varieties, including the white grapes Minella and Grecanico. The vineyard is set at 1200m above sea level, making it the highest elevation vineyard in Sicily. Aged in stainless steel tanks for 5 months.
An earthy and complex rosato, with a savory edge. Cranberry, berry and volcanic soil smokiness on the nose leads into tangy notes of red cherries and berries on the palate.
