Founded in 2010 by the husband and wife team of Kyle and Savanna Knapp, Press Gang Cellars makes small production natural wines in Santa Barbara County. Kyle is also Head Winemaker for Stolpman Vineyards. Since the beginning, Kyle's focus has been on Grenache, Syrah and Roussanne, all sourced from vineyards in Ballard Canyon, Santa Ynez Valley and Sta. Rita Hills AVA. His fruit is organically farmed, hand-picked, hand-sorted, and fermented using only native yeast.
This fresh blend is made from a blend of 47% Grenache Noir (La Certe Vineyard, Los Olivos District AVA), 38% Syrah (Robert Rae Ranch, Sta. Rilla Hills AVA), 15% Mourvèdre (La Certe Vineyard, Los Olivos District AVA). Organic farming. Aged 12 months in neutral French oak.
Complex and layered, bright, fresh, and juicy. Very fresh aromatics of blackcurrant and blueberry with some cocoa powder, along with anise. On the palate, notes of graphite and roasted meat.
