Type: White Wine
Grape: Sauvignon Blanc
The Herron vineyard is a 1.2-acre, cool-climate site in the Sonoma Mountain AVA. The site has 65-year-old vines and is farmed organically by Alex and Marty Winters and Alex Pitts, who met as chefs and cut their teeth in fine dining kitchens. They traveled analogous paths, developing their shared passion for wine and shifting their focus to the wine industry where they immersed themselves, with a desire to learn as much as they could.
Alex & Marty make wines of high quality using a non-interventionist approach, in order to best showcase the sense of place where the grapes are grown. They source grapes from unique and distinct single vineyards that are impeccably farmed in California.
This Sauvignon Blanc is citrus dominated, with notes of lemon pith and grapefruit peel, and lots of briny minerals. Aged in 50% neutral wood and 50% stainless steel with very minimal sulfur.
