Region: Santa Cruz
Fruit for this sparkling rose pet-nat is sourced from 35 year-old vines in Komrosky Vineyard, which recently converted to all organic farming practices, at the base of the Southern Santa Cruz Mountains, just east of the San Andrea Fault. Due to high seismic activity, the top soils are thin and tumultuous with a melange of many materials, including sandstone, siltstone, chert, greenstone, greywacke, limestone and serpentinite.
This wine was vinified naturally, without any added sulfur. Instead, Madson relies on the carbon dioxide in the wine to preserve the freshness.
Aromas of watermelon, strawberry guava, and lemon rind. Soft and fruity on the palate, framed by a bright, mouthwatering acidity.
