Type: Orange Wine
Longarico is a joint project between Luigi Stalteri and Alessandro Viola, an oenologist who also makes natural wine of his own (some of our favorites!) in the Trapani region.
Organic farming in clay/calcarious soils. Grapes are hand harvested, destemmed and pressed into stainless steel tanks where they ferment with indigenous yeasts in contact with the skins for 3 days, which produces an orange wine. The wine goes through malolactic fermentation and ages on the lees in chestnut barrels for about 6 months. The wine is bottled unfiltered, unfined and with very minimal sulfur added at bottling.
Deep amber color. A richly textured and structured wine with with smoky, stone fruit and citrus notes.
