Domaine Kumpf et Meyer was founded in 1997 by Sophie Kumpf and Philippe Meyer, both children of Alsatian winegrowers. They worked organically since the beginning. In 2010 Philipe left, and Sophie continued work at the domaine, assisted by Julien Albertus. Julien began transitioning to biodynamic techniques in the vineyards, which encompass 16 hectares spread out on 70 small parcels extending 15 km north to south across 5 communes in Alsace. ‘Utopiste’ is 100% gewürztraminer, harvested at full maturity, macerated on its skins for 15 days and aged a full year. Biodynamically grown, low-intervention and bottled without the addition of sulfur.

Explosive aromas and flavors of muskmelon, papaya, tea leaves and honey. Grippy tannins and white pepper on the long finish.
