Domaine Kumpf et Meyer was founded in 1997 by Sophie Kumpf and Philippe Meyer, both children of Alsatian winegrowers. They worked organically since the beginning. In 2010 Philipe left, and Sophie continued work at the domaine, assisted by Julien Albertus. Julien began transitioning to biodynamic techniques in the vineyards, which encompass 16 hectares spread out on 70 small parcels extending 15 km north to south across 5 communes in Alsace.

Fruit for this wine was grown on a mix of clay/limestone soils on the slopes of Rosheim and Molsheim villages. No sulfur added, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. This is a classic Alsatian-style Riesling with a gentle line of acidity framing blossoms and exotic fruits. The fruit was picked later, resulting in a broad mouthfeel and slightly oily texture, with notes of ginger and stone fruits. Long and mouth-watering finish.
