Gift Set includes:
1 bottle Jacques Lassaigne Vignes de Montgueux Blanc de Blancs (Chardonnay)
1 bottle Jacquesson Cuvée 745 (Pinot Noir/Pinot Meunier/Chardonnay)
Jacques Lassaigne is a 4.7-hectare family vineyard located in Montgueux. The vineyards boast prime southeastern exposure and consist entirely of Chardonnay. The terroir in Montgueux is nearly identical to the growing sites found further north in Le Mesnil, as they share the same limestone vein — this is exceptional terroir for Champagne. The grapes for this wine are hand-harvested from 9 different sites. No sulfur is added to the blend. The wine is aged in new & old barrels for 12 to 24 months and held in bottle for 1 to 5 years. Pale straw color in the glass with lovely mineral, dried fruit and citrus zest aromatics that reflect the purest expression of the Montgueux terroir. The palate is vibrant with crisp citrus and melon flavors, backed by bright acidity & minerality. The finish lingers with citrus notes.
Jacquesson is small producer founded in 1798 by Memmie Jacquesson. The 28-hectare domaine comprises 11 hectares in Avize and Oiry, 13 hectares spread over Aÿ, Hautvillers, Dizy and Mareuil-su-Aÿ and another 4 hectares in the Vallée de l'Ardre. Current owners, brothers, Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet place a huge emphasis on the quality of the vineyards. Recently methods have changed to be organic, and almost all Jacquesson wines ferment in old, large-sized neutral oak barrels, which yield little wood aroma to the wine. This cuvée 745 is based on the 2017 vintage and made up of a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Meunier, and 25% Pinot Noir. It displays notes of poached pear, baked apple, grapefruit, lemon rind and toasted nuts, and is defined by fine bubbles with crisp acidity and a pure, fruit core.
