Leaving their former careers in restaurants and pharmaceuticals respectively, Jonas Newman and Vicki Samaras trained in Niagara for four years before planting vines in Prince Edward County in 2003. Today, they produce some of the most sought after wines in Canada. They’ve partnered up with David McMillan of Joe Beef on the project L’Imparfait.
Grapes are farmed biodynamically and hand-harvested. Spontaneous fermentation occurs in neutral oak with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered and with minimal sulfur. Fresh and juicy, with crunchy red forest berries and pomegranate. Delicious with a light chill.
