Tomorrow's Wine
$34.99
Country: Italy
Region: Piedmonte
Type: Red Wine
Grape: Freisa/Barbera
Freisa is an ancient grape varietal that has never been cloned. A distant relative of Nebbiolo, it shares the same bright acidity and tannic structure. 55% Barbera and 45% Freisa were co-fermented for 18 days, and then racked in a stainless-steel vat until the end of the spontaneous malolactic conversion. Aged in neutral barrels for eight months before bottling.
Flavors of black fruits, baked-earth and hints of tar and charred meat. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy fruit and firm but ripe tannins. Finishes with a pleasing, slightly amaro-like note.
