Grape: Xarel-lo Vermell
9th generation winemaker Manel Arinyó largely makes sparkling wines from natuve Catalonian grapes, but here has created a still bottling of a unique rose from the rare Xarel-lo Vermell variety. Xarel-lo is a fairly widely planted white grape, but there are a few plantings in Catalonia of its naturally pink-berried mutation called Xarel-lo Vermell. This is made with skin contact for a pink-hued, ramato-style wine. Certified organic farming with biodynamic practices. Fermentations are all done naturally, with no filtering or fining, and no sulfites added.
A beautiful light orangish-pink hue with natural cloudiness, this wine has tropical notes of papaya and tangerines, and a refreshingly bright palate with just a touch of funk.
