Region: North Coast
Type: Red Wine
The fruit for this wine comes from in Solano County’s Green Valley and Mendocino County and is fermented with native yeasts, some semi-carbonic. There is no filtering of fining, and nothing is added except a small amount of sulfites.
The organically-farmed Love Red grapes are harvested early to highlight the fruit and preserve acidity. The Carignan is a combination of whole cluster and destemmed fruit from four 70 year-old dry farmed vineyards., while the Valdiguié and Syrah were fermented whole cluster. The wine was aged in a combination of neutral French oak barrels and concrete tanks.
A light, juicy red with flavors of fresh cherry and cranberry, as well as a bit of clay, lavender, and a hint of tobacco.
