Château de Béru has been around since the 12th century & in the family for 400 years. This Chablis is produced from a hillside vineyard rich in Kimmeridgian soil, mainly composed of crushed limestone and marine fossils. The vines are approximately 30 years old. After a conversion to organic viticulture, the domain now also works biodynamically.
The Chardonnay for the Méthode ancestrale Love Joy comes from the winery's youngest vines, planted in 2002 on half a hectare in Montserre. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged 18 months on lees.
Aromas of stone fruit, citrus and brioche. On the palate, ripe citrus lemon curd, Mirabelle plums, a hint of pineapple, yeast and wet stones, with bright acidity and a lively but silky structure.
