Grape: Frappato/Nero d’Avola/Grenache
This wine comes from forty year-old, organically farmed vines in Filippo’s home vineyard, planted over clay and sand. Destemmed Nero d’avola and Grenache are fermented on the skins in plastic tini for one month while the Frappato ferments in wood, then pressed off and mixed into concrete for 9 months of aging. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, with minimal sulfur added only as necessary.
Notes of plummy, dark fruits and berries, flowers and wild herbs, with soft tannins.
