Le Coste, which has gained a cult status among die-hard natural wine lovers, was born when husband and wife team Gianmarco Antonuzi and Clementine Bouveron, after extensive winemaking experience in Bourgundy, decided to return to Gianmarco’s native Lazio.They moved to Gradoli, in Northern Lazio, a terroir of volcanic origins rich in iron, volcanic ashes and nutrients, and started by purchasing 3 hectares of abandoned land once planted with olives and vines, and slowly expanding from there. Today, the farm, tended according to the most authentic naturalist ethos and biodynamic methods, comprises about 14 hectares. They work with ancient local varieties such as Procanico, Roscetto and Aleatico and each year, they release an ever-changing range of wines each with a distinctive and marked personality.

From vines both young and old, the fruit for Le Coste Bianco wine was de-stemmed and macerated for two weeks before being pressed off to old barrels for a year of aging. This is a benchmark orange wine for us. Medium-amber color. Lifted and fragrant, with aromas of citrus zest and herbs, refreshing salinity and a long, elegant finish.

Le Coste Rosato comes from a 50 year-old vineyard, planted 500 meters above sea level. The cool, wet vintage produced delicate fruit that spent only a couple of hours in contact with the skins before being pressed into tank. It is a lovely, crunchy rosato with bright acidity and elegant aromatics.
