Ried Obere Schoss is the "filet cut" of Vienna's famed Nussberg Vineyard, a site that has built its reputation over many centuries. Biodynamic farming. 40 year-old vines grow in sandy limestone soils with ideal southern exposure. Careful hand-harvest, 6 days of maceration and slow spontaneous fermentation give way to maturation split between amphora and used Stockinger barrels. 10 months on the fine lees. No fining/filtering. Minimal sulfur. 

From the fantastic 2019 vintage, this wine is bone-dry and textured, with crystalline minerality and a saline edge. Aromas of fresh fennel and cut grass, with floral and crisp green apple notes.
